AIDS Care is proud to announce Clint J. Koenig, M.D., as the new chief medical officer and senior vice president of medical affairs. In this position, Dr. Koenig will oversee AIDS Care’s medical services, clinical quality regulations, nursing, care management and clinical trials. Prior to joining the senior management team at AIDS Care, Dr. Koenig served as medical director for Monroe Plan for Medical Care and as state medical director for the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services.
Additionally, Dr. Koenig is a physician surveyor for the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), and serves on the board of several local and regional health care organizations. He also holds a Master of Arts degree in journalism and a Master of Science degree in public health. “Dr. Koenig is a board-certified family practitioner and brings the vision and experience of creating and managing an integrated and coordinated system of care delivery, as well as extensive knowledge and commitment to quality improvement,” says Jay Rudman, president and chief executive officer at AIDS Care.
With Dr. Koenig assuming leadership of the clinical team, William M. Valenti, M.D., co-founder and interim chief medical officer, has been appointed senior vice president of organizational advancement. In this newly created role, Dr. Valenti will function as a strategic leader and be responsible for aligning the organization’s strategic vision with philanthropic resources. He will drive progress toward strategic goals and new clinical initiatives through the development of relationships with organizations engaged in the region’s healthcare delivery, health policy and system reform. Dr. Valenti will also continue his longtime role as a staff physician and clinical researcher.
